About:

Shiba Island was a 6-week long project which I designed, pape-prototyped, and pitched to be one of the final game projects for a USC games course in my freshman year. It got chosen, so myself and a small team of 3 others completed and polished the game, publishing on The Game Crafter. It is now showcased at the front desk of USC Games.

My Role on this Game:

As the Project lead and Designer on Shiba Island, I drafted and constructed the rules, drafted and created all of the board game pieces, and playtested my iterations of the game.

This project was built around the emotion goal of "relief," which turned out to be much more challenging than initially anticipated. However, through iterative design and repeated playtesting, I was able to create a game that put enough pressure onto players so that at the end of each turn if the player survived, they would feel a sigh of relief.
